On July 11, 2019, Peachtree Providence Partners co-founder, Walter Davis, shared unique insights on Opportunity Zones during a panel discussion at the Koried Global Pension Fund Summit in Miami, Florida. The Breakfast Roundtable Discussion, entitled “Smart Cities and Opportunity Zones,” featured an informed conversation around Opportunity Zones – including what they are, what they mean, how they get done, and how to incorporate minority-owned businesses into the plan. Other panelists involved in the discussion included: New York State Senator James Sanders, Little Rock, AR Mayor Frank Scott, Jr., and McDermott Will & Emery LLP Partner, Pejman Razavilar. The panelists captivated the audience with their knowledgeable, visionary, and pragmatic presentations.
Walter Davis has been instrumental in advancing Opportunity Zone legislation and subsequent regulations since 2017. Davis currently travels the U.S. delivering presentations on Opportunity Zones, and advises municipalities on how to prepare for and take advantage of the private capital that flows from this legislation.
